L’Académie des Arts Camp

Camps Location

CENTRE ST-GABRIEL JEANNE D’ARC
Located at the entrance of the village of Saint-Affrique, our camp session will take place in this magnificent property surrounded by 15 acres of land.

Our camp offers the perfect conditions for Artistic activities :

A theatre (200 sq. meters), a dance studio, a music studio, a room with a PA system (sound-proof) with a 90 sq. meters screen, a gym completely equipped, a fine arts studio…

Campers will stay in comfortable rooms of 2 to 5 beds with shower facilities, a dining-room – several sports fields are also available in the Parc and the swimming pool located in the village is only a few minutes walk from the camp.

Theme

Inspired from a book, a movie, a fiction a real Music Hall such as « Roméo & Juliette » or « The 10 Commandments », supervised by professional artists, campers will put together a real show. With the help of their counselors, they will write the screen plays and promote their own show.

Extra Activities

- Kayaking : down river (2 half days)
- Biking trip in the forest of Rougier de Camarès (1 day)
Choice of other activities are:
- Hiking, camping, swimming, games and parties…

Activities

WORKSHOPS AND REHEARSALS:
VSF Music and Songs (with the help of a professional musician, singer and writer): writing melodies, songs and learning to sing (voice work).
VSF Theatre and Production: Staging, working on diction, choosing a role to play and expressing your personality.
VSF Dance et Choreography: learning choreographies and dance rehearsals !
VSF Sets and Costumes: working on sound and light, everything necessary to create a great show in order to bring spectators the best view of the story and time.

Notes : A recording studio (2 keyboards, mixing tables, microphones, mini-discs, computer and software, CD burners, amplifiers et sound equipment will be available for campers to use during the entire session.
The Mucic Hall or show will be presented in front of the inhabitants of the town of Saint-Affrique. They will be recorded and sent home to the children after the session.

VSF Trip to the Viaduct of Millau, the world highest bridge, built over the Tarn River.
VSF Visit of the Roquefort cheese cellars
VSF Biking around the fortified Templar city of St. Eulalie de Cernon, with its network of medieval streets, its towers and walls built in the 15th Century by the Knights of St. John of Jerusalem.
VSF Trips on the Causses de Larzac following the foot steps of the Knights of Templar – Discovering of the history of the region.
