VILLAGE DES ENFANTS MOULÈS
Located on top of a tree-covered hill, at the border of the “Causse de Larzac”, our camp is a real medieval village built by farmers and shepherds in the early 15th century. Isolated, it has kept its authenticity and charm through the centuries, with its traditional architecture, its stables, its communal oven, and its typical medieval passages.

Children and Counselors sleep in bungalow tents (5 to 6 beds) on cement floors, with lights, beds and closets. The tents are located in the woods at the border of the village, in the shade!

Shower facilities and also plenty of rooms for activities including a small library, and a swimming pool are available on site at the village.

Theme

The Causse de Larzac, at one time covered by water, is an area rich in fossils. In 1980, a young man discovered the remains of a Plesiosaurus in a nearby Village. Campers are introduced to palaeontology (study of fossils) and geology (study of the earth) as they explore pre-history dating back 180 million years!
With the help of their counselors, children are going to experience an old dream and become true explorers in search of Dinosaurs!

Extra Activities

- Rock Climbing (1 Day)
- Adventure Trail (tree climbing, bridges, ” via ferrata “…) (1 Day)
- Arts & crafts (sculpture, painting …)
- Swimming, games, hiking and camping trips

Activities

Excavation, photography, cleaning and identification of fossils.

2nd Stage: FAMILIARIZATION WITH THE REGION
Initiation in the form of geology games, topography (map reading), study of the landscape and cave exploration (hiking/camping trips). Hiking trips on the “Causse du Larzac”.

3rd Stage: ARTS and CRAFTS
- Drawing of a map representing the region in the “Jurassic times”
- Creation of a collection of fossils and its identification board

At the end of camp, the work of the children will be displayed in an exposition open to the public.
